The Baksjøløpet was first held in 1981 and has become a tradition in Åbogen, Eidskog municipality. The main course is 11 km long, partly on gravel and partly on asphalt roads, while participants who walk without timing can choose an alternative route of 6 km. The event, which has about 100 volunteers with local ties, offers a special atmosphere characterized by community spirit and joy. Starting in 2024, the race will always be held on the last Sunday in April at 11:00 AM.
